Welcome to Merri-bek Toy Library!
We are a friendly, member-run community facility for kids aged 6 months to 6 years in the Merri-bek City Council area .

Our annual membership fee of $90 ($45 for concession card holders) lets you borrow three toys at a time for two weeks. Our $115 option ($55 for concession card holders) lets you borrow six toys at a time for two weeks.
What does 'member-run' mean?
It means all our members are involved in keeping our sessions running. We are independent organisation, funded by membership fees and grants. Our committee of management are all volunteers. We run four borrowing sessions a week and, alongside our site coordinators, need our members to staff each session, processing loans and returns and helping with the maintenance of the toy collection. A condition of membership is helping out at two borrowing sessions a year - that's how we keep our membership fees so affordable. We have a roster that you can sign up to online or at a session. Helping out at the sessions is fun, a great way to meet other local families AND you get a really good look at all our toys!
If you're keen to help outside of session times, check out our Volunteer opportunities. A little help makes a big impact to us being able to keep running. Most only require an hour or two a week, and if you're currently on parental leave they're a great way to keep your skills current!
New Wednesday Inclusive and Accessible borrowing sessions
We are now running an additional borrowing session at Pascoe Vale. Our Inclusive and Accessible borrowing sessions run on Wednesdays, from 1:30pm-3:30pm.
These will be low-sensory sessions. We’ll keep the lights off, and arrange the toys in the hall a little differently so that while you’ll still be able to browse and choose from our full range of toys, we’ll aim to keep the noisier items out of reach of little hands. Our Coordinator will also be available to help you with toy selection if required.
These sessions are possible with funding through Toy Libraries Australia and the Department of Social Services to help us make the toy library more accessible to children and families with a disability or developmental delay. All current and new members are welcome!
